Passage Content

A While it is ideal for humans to be healthy in both mind and body, young people who have newly entered society will sometimes encounter difficulties and lose their self-confidence. Speaking from experience, it is often when people lose confidence in themselves that they can no longer hear the warm words of their colleagues and seniors. As a result, they may even ruin the relationships they have built up until then. In order to value the people around you and feel motivated to make use of their advice, try looking at your past efforts positively first. Even if the result is not perfect, if you can say "well done" to yourself, you will become able to listen to other people's words honestly and openly.
B Right now, as you have just become working adults, you are probably surprised by the strictness of work and the complexity of interpersonal relationships that you did not experience during your student days. You may feel that the ideals you held are on the verge of collapsing, thinking "it wasn't supposed to be like this." You likely feel this strongly especially when asked to do unreasonable tasks by bosses or seniors with different values from your own. At times, you might involuntarily want to push back against a senior's words. However, at such times, please try to accept the other person's way of thinking first. Building a relationship of trust takes a certain amount of time, and you can express your own thoughts after that. Until then, exercising self-restraint is also important, and that itself serves as training for being a member of society.
