Living things have mysterious powers. For example, plants have very strong vitality. Just by sticking a cut stem into the soil, it can grow back to its original size in no time. Something similar happens with animals. When a lizard loses its tail or a crab loses its claw, a new one grows back. However, if a human loses a finger, it will never return to its original state. Nevertheless, hair and fingernails grow back even if they are cut. In this way, living things possess the power to restore parts of their bodies that have been severed.
