動詞どうし 1 (Group 1)

Ends in ウ段ウだん. Change ウ段ウだん → イ段イだん + ます. Examples: 買う→買います、書く→書きます、出す→出します.

動詞どうし 2 (Group 2)

Usually ends in an イ段イだん syllable + る or an エ段エだん syllable + る. Remove る and add ます. Examples: 見る→見ます、いる→います、起きる→起きます、食べる→食べます、寝る→寝ます. Some verbs with the same ending belong to Group 1 and must be memorized separately.
