- Complete negation: Expresses a strong denial of the possibility of an event occurring based on certain grounds.
- Translated as: "There's no reason for..." / "There is no way..." / "It's impossible that...".
- Polite form: ~がないです / ~がありません. Casual form: ~ない. Emphasis: Replace が with は.

Partial negation. Translated as: "Not necessarily ~", "Not always ~", "It doesn't mean that ~".

Sentence Pattern
V / A (Plain form) + ことは
+ V / A (Repeat the same word) + が / けれど
+ V / A (Repeat the same word) + が / けれど
Used when the speaker acknowledges a fact in the first clause, but it is not very important. The second clause contains the point that really matters.

I can understand what he is saying, but I cannot agree with him.
この靴はデザインはいいことはいいが、少しサイズが合わない。
